THE LEADING LABORATORY NETWORK IN SEDIMENT AND BIOTA CONTROL

We address the analytical needs of the sector

At the Eurofins Environment Testing Spain laboratory network, we understand the importance of precise and efficient monitoring of sediments and biota to ensure the health of aquatic ecosystems. Our commitment is to provide reliable and rapid analyses that enable obtaining critical information about the state of water bodies.

Our laboratories, accredited under the UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard, are equipped with advanced technology to perform a wide range of analytical controls on sediments and biota. We offer real-time results 24/7, accessible whenever you need them. Additionally, we provide direct integration of our database with your management programs, facilitating data interpretation and informed decision-making.

Trust Eurofins Environment Testing Spain for the monitoring and assessment of the ecological status of your surface and groundwater bodies, complying with the most stringent regulations.

Sample collection and physicochemical and microbiological analyses of sediments

  • Sample collection of sediments for subsequent laboratory analysis.
  • Physicochemical analyses: pH in H2O ext, Moisture, Residual Moisture, Dry Matter, Particle Size Analysis, Total Organic Carbon, Total Metals, Chromium VI, Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), Pesticides, Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs), Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers, Hydrocarbons (C10-C40), Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs), Biphenyl and Biphenyl Oxide, Dry Extract/Total Solids, Total Organic Matter, Texture, Particle Size Distribution Curve, Sieve Particle Size Distribution, Clay, Mercury, Free and Total Cyanides, Kjeldahl Nitrogen, Organotin Compounds, Headspace Solvents, Tetrachloroethane, Dichlorobenzene, Hexachlorobutadiene, Tetrachloroethylene, Carbon Tetrachloride, Dichloroethylene, Benzene, Vinyl Chloride, Xylene, Tetrachlorobenzene, Volatile Petroleum Hydrocarbons, and Polychlorinated Biphenyls.
  • Microbiological analyses: total coliforms, fecal coliforms, enterococci, and clostridium.

Sample collection and biological analyses of macroinvertebrates in marine sediments

Collection of sediment samples to study the presence and diversity of macroinvertebrates, organisms that are key indicators of marine ecosystem health.

  • BOPA Index: Benthic Opportunistic Polychaete Amphipod Index.
  • M-AMBI Index: Classification of benthic species into different ecological groups based on their sensitivity or opportunism to pollution.

Dredged material characterization:

Sample collection and analysis for the characterization of dredged material in accordance with the standards of the “Guidelines for the characterization of dredged material and its relocation in public maritime-terrestrial waters”.
