AMIA
Description
AMIA aims to define a new concept of WWTP (Wastewater Treatment Plant) focused primarly on meeting the requirements of the Water Reuse Directive, with low energy demand and added value from by-products.
A three-stage pilot plant system is therefore designed, built, and validated, combining anaerobic/aerobic treatment, a microalgae bioreactor and a process that integrates adsorption with advanced oxidation. This WWTP concept recovers nutrients, reduces net energy consumption and consequently lowers greenhouse gas emissions through:
- Anaerobic treatment that produces biogas while using less energy.
- Microalgae treatment with low energy requirements.
- Adorption and electro-oxidation technologies powered by renewable energy.
This project is being carried out in cooperation with: FACSA, ARVIA TECHNOLOGY, ATLANTIS CONSULTING, CSIC, ESAMUR
